Upcycling: a shop, a garden, a project

Information

Kuleyat al Sharee'a street next to Afghani building 19 - website

Khordda is the brainchild of Hana Faouri, a Jordanian artist, passionate about Upcycling. Hana is at the forefront of this trend in Jordan and has embarked a whole bunch of people on her journey.

She has now opened in Jebel Weibdeh a workshop space for artists, a shop (open all the week except on Tuesdays and Fridays) and her garden that hosts, every Saturday, stalls from a community of people who share the same passion: sustainability & recycling.

It’s definitely a creative place where an old bathtub is transformed into a sofa and a bench; wine bottles have a second life and serve as super design glasses; plastic bags, Jordan’s plague, are ironed to make a fabric with which Ipad pouches are created.

In the garden, you’ll also have storytellers and an origami workshop for kids as well as stalls selling jams, lemonades and yogurts.

I like this project a lot because environmental problems, like waste management, are huge in Jordan and this project help raise awareness. Good luck Hana!
