Artplus hotel

A convivial affordable arty hotel close to the beach

Information

35 Ben Yehuda Street - website

I love this hotel. It is simply perfect for the creative minds who want to be close to the beach. The vibe is young and arty.

As a matter of fact it is dedicated to the promotion of local artists. The lobby, the upper floors corridors and some of the rooms are decorated by works of Zadok Ben-David, Sigalit Landau,… just to name a few.

It’s located not on but near the beach (150m and they provide beach towels) and in a handy neighbourhood with restaurants (like the Thai House and Oasis) and shops. It’s not far either from Dizengoff street/square. There’s a currency exchange booth a few buildings down the road and a fantastic organic grocery/beauty shop in the building, though not part of the hotel.

They now have a gym and a sauna.

They provide a wonderful buffet breakfast and have the good idea to offer you an “aperitif” everyday from something like 4 to 7pm, with soft drinks, white and red wines and some snacks.

The staff is really helpful and nice. You feel they care about you.

The rooms are not swanky and tiny but comfortable and the feel is arty and dynamic. The only criticism I would express is that the windows are not double-glazed (expect a bit of noise from the traffic) and the blinds let the light in. So ask for a room not on the street and take a sleeping mask if this bothers you.

Ask for the rooms decorated by artists!

It’s part of the Israeli boutique hotel chain Atlas that proposes great design hotels at a reasonable price.
