Ada Ciganlija is an island on the Sava River in Belgrade, which was artificially turned into a peninsula. It’s also the name of a neighboring lake created by damming the Sava Basin and beach on the lake. It’s an extremely popular zone of Belgrade, famous for its beaches. Due to its popularity, Ada Ciganlija is often referred to as the “Belgrade sea”. Here you can find numerous restaurants, cafés and bars that are considered to be best nightspots in the city. One of the trademarks of the Sava Lake is a water fountain, similar to the most famous fountain in Geneva, which is illuminated at night.
