Adulterers is an intimate and revealing story about social standards of a successful woman that soon leads to the identities of all, all the masks which hide their true self. The heroine finds out that her parents are not her biological ones. According to the author, this is the book in which she sets her heroine into conflict with all stereotypes, but in which it was difficult to connect the truth with confession and rebellion. The book is not autobiographical, says the author, and concludes that freedom exists.

Vida Ognjenović is an iconic Serbian theater director, playwright, writer, drama professor and diplomat. She is one of the founders of Serbia’s Democratic Party and has served as Serbia’s Ambassador in Norway and Denmark. She has written and directed many award-winning stage, TV and radio dramas, and has published six novels and seven books of drama.
