Neve Tzedek

A must-see neighbourhood

It’s the city’s oldest neighbourhood. Long being neglected, it has been awesomely rehabilitated without losing its charm and is now quite fashionable and home to many yuppies. It has a real village-like atmosphere. Shabazi street is the main street.

it is full of beautiful architecture, cute shops and cafes, wonderful for a Saturday morning stroll.

A visit to the Chelouche art Gallery  located 32 Shulsh Street should be on your list. It’s located in the house built by Aharon Chelouche, the man who founded Neve Tzedek in 1887. Admire the stunning view on the neighbourhood from the roof.

Another cultural spot is the Suzanne Dellal Center (6 Yehieli St), home of the famous BatSheva Dance Company.

Have breakfast or lunch at Suzanna (see tips).

Among other shops, check the jewels of Agas & Tamar, on Shabazi street. I like them a lot.

Couple this visit with HaTachana (see tip), located at the end of Shabazi street when walking to the sea.
