One of my best culinary experience in Sydney

Information

57-59 Macleay Street , Potts Point - Yellow website

You can’t miss this place on Macleay Street: a big, well…yellow house!

The house itself has a story to tell. It once was an art gallery in bohemian Potts Point and also was where Pop artist Martin Sharp used to live. It was here that he created a collaborative artists movement called the Yellow House Artists Collective. The building still houses a very interesting art gallery. The restaurant’s shabby chic interior gives the place a relaxed feel, and a variety of chandeliers and unusual wall mirrors adding a dash of glamour.

Yellow serves up a modern Australian bistro menu that makes your taste buds sparkle, with an innovative mix of flavours and textures that is very surprising but it works! Think of South Australia calamari with duck tongue, and charred corn or steamed John Dory (a fish) with turnip and green strawberries.

Try their red quinoa and mushroom crackers with a glass of Chapter Sauvignon blanc from the Yarra Valley (Victoria) or, even better, a Jamsheed Roussanne from Beechworth(Victoria again) to start with: it will directly set the tone of your soirée.

Booking possible.
