The crafts are numerous and colorful.

Allow some empty space in your suitcase because the temptations will be numerous: divine beauty & spa products (soaps, argan oil, herbs, Ghassoul…), embroidered babouches (slippers), bags, textiles, ceramic, berber rugs and other home decor items,…

Basically, there are 2 areas for shopping:

  1. the Medina which is the old city with its epicenter, the Djemaa el-Fna square. Also called the ochre city because of the colours of its walls and its red sandstone buildings, it’s where you’ll find the souks (the markets): there are 18 of them! You can easily get lost because of its maze of tiny streets…
  2. the Guéliz, with its broad, European-styled avenues, is Marrakech’s new city built in the 1910’s
